Mailwasher is an excellent user-friendly spam blocking program. After you install the program you will be prompted to enter your email account(s) data (pop server address, account login etc). Mail washer comes with an easy accounts import screen which enables you to load all you settings in one click (Mailwasher allows an unlimited number of email accounts), That's it! The program Setup is now complete. Mailwasher is a stand-alone spam blocking application , it runs independently of your email software and provide a buffer between your email software and your email server. By clicking the 'Check Mail' button, Mailwasher will download only the header information of the email messages waiting for you on the server and will display them line-by-line, just like your normal email program. The only difference though is that the actual messages are not being downloaded, thus enabling you to first weed through any junk emails or virus infected emails before you download them to your inbox. Mailwasher's comes with fuzzy logic technology that detects and mark accordingly any messages that are suspected as spam or a possible virus. You can then click to keep or delete, as well as "bounce" an email back to the sender so that it appears to the sender that your email address is invalid. Mailwasher also allows you to add email addresses to your Friends List or Blacklist with one click. Once the 'Process Mail' button is clicked, Mailwasher will delete all the unwanted emails on the server leaving only the emails you wish to download. It will then Automatically open your default email program. Mailwasher comes with many options and settings to enable you full control over your email accounts. It can also automatically update itself with a list of known spammers or virus signatures. Mailwasher is an excellent first line of defense in the fight against spam and email born viruses.
